Book of Mormon Title Page
Wherefore,
it is an abridgment of the record of the people of Nephi, and also of the
Lamanites—Written to the Lamanites, who are a remnant of the house of Israel;
and also to Jew and Gentile—Written by way of commandment, and also by the
spirit of prophecy and of revelation—Written and sealed up, and hid up unto the
Lord, that they might not be destroyed—To come forth by the gift and power of
God unto the interpretation thereof—Sealed by the hand of Moroni, and hid up
unto the Lord, to come forth in due time by way of the Gentile—The
interpretation thereof by the gift of God.

60 Now these words, O Lord, we have spoken before thee, concerning the revelations and commandments which thou hast given unto us, who are identified with the Gentiles.
D&C 45
28 And when the times of the Gentiles is come in, a
light shall break forth among them that sit in darkness, and it shall be the
fulness of my gospel;

29 But they receive it not; for they perceive not the
light, and they turn their hearts from me because of the precepts of men.
30 And in that generation shall the times of the
Gentiles be fulfilled.
“Of
course all of the righteous desire to see
the face of our Savior, but
the suggestion that this must happen in mortality is a familiar tactic of the
adversary: to identify a worthy goal, such as to achieve exaltation,
and then use the desirability of that goal and people’s enthusiasm for it to
obscure the new means the adversary suggests to achieve it. The means are
important, even vital. As the Lord said in another setting, “It must needs be
done in mine own way.”
-Dallin H Oaks
"You do
not need to see the Savior, as the Apostles did, to experience
the same transformation. Your testimony of Christ, born of the Holy Ghost, can
help you look past the disappointing endings in mortality and see the bright
future that the Redeemer of the world has prepared."

13 But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye shut
up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye
neither go in yourselves, neither suffer
ye them that are entering to go in.

22 Inasmuch as they shall humble themselves before me,
and abide in my word, and hearken to the voice of my Spirit.
23 Verily, verily, I say unto you, darkness covereth
the earth, and gross darkness the minds of the people, and ALL flesh has become
corrupt before my face.
24 Behold, vengeance cometh speedily upon the
inhabitants of the earth, a day of wrath, a day of burning, a day of
desolation, of weeping, of mourning, and of lamentation; and as a whirlwind it
shall come upon all the face of the earth, saith the Lord.
26 First
among those among you, saith the Lord, WHO PROFESSED TO KNOW MY NAME and have
not KNOWN me, and have blasphemed against me in the MIDST OF MY HOUSE, saith
the Lord.
"President
Joseph Smith read the 14th chapter of Ezekiel--said the Lord had declared by
the Prophet, that the people should each
one stand for himself, and depend
on no man or men in that state of corruption of the Jewish church--that
righteous persons could only deliver their own souls--applied it to the present state of the Church of Jesus Christ of
Latter-day Saints--said if the people departed from the Lord, they must fall--that they were depending on the Prophet,
hence were darkened in their minds, in consequence of neglecting the
duties devolving upon themselves, envious towards the innocent, while they
afflict the virtuous with their shafts of envy." TPJS pp. 237-38

9 And
because of the mercies of the Father unto the Gentiles, and also
the judgments of the Father upon my people who are of the house of Israel,
verily, verily, I say unto you, that after all this, and I have caused my
people who are of the house of Israel to be smitten, and to be afflicted, and
to be slain, and to be cast out from among them, and to become hated by them,
and to become a hiss and a byword among them—
10 And
thus commandeth the Father that I should say unto you: At that day when the
Gentiles shall sin against my gospel, and shall reject the fulness of my gospel, and shall be lifted up in
the pride of their hearts above all nations, and above all the people of the
whole earth, and shall be filled with all manner of lyings, and of deceits, and
of mischiefs, and all manner of hypocrisy, and murders, and priestcrafts, and
whoredoms, and of secret abominations; and if they shall do all those things,
and shall reject the fulness of my
gospel, behold, saith the Father, I
will bring the fulness of my gospel from among them.
To better understand how the rejection of the fullness of the Lord's gospel has progressed and continues to progress among the Gentiles I would recommend the following book:

11 And
then will I remember my covenant
which I have made unto my people, O
house of Israel, and I will bring my gospel unto them.
12 And I will show
unto thee, O house of Israel, that the Gentiles
shall not have power over you; but I will remember my covenant unto you, O house of Israel, and ye
shall come unto the knowledge
of the fulness of my gospel.
13 But if the Gentiles
will repent and return unto
me, saith the Father, behold they
shall be numbered among my people, O house of Israel.
